“Either America will destroy ignorance or ignorance will destroy the United States.” -W.E.B. DuBois
We are iCampers. We gathered for a week in July 2019 to discuss the struggles that marginalized youth face in the United States, and decided to do something through the use of different media outlets. The story of us coming together to use media for justice is as important as the work we have made. To learn more about our process, visit About Us and Behind the Scenes.
Our goal is to share knowledge about social injustices with our audience — YOU. We believe that spreading awareness about the different types of social injustices and sharing opinions through different kinds of media will highlight the importance of solving the problems that marginalized groups face today. We are going to do this through our hashtag #stories.
Our #stories are a wake up call about our current political moment and how it connects to past struggles. Our stories cover topics that matter to us and the creative ways we engage with these issues. From #intersectionality to #youthpolitics, we have created podcasts, photos, and shared knowledge about the many forms of social injustice in the United States. Our #stories are a space where marginalized youth represent their own stories with the goal to reach others who can relate.
